Sneak peek to the Spring/Summer 2012 fashion show
The fragrance of spring’s first flowers. The sound of arrival and departure in the busy port. The colourful market, alive with smiling people, fresh vegetables, fish, seagulls. Long, leisurely hours spent with friends in cafés, parks, the nearby islands. Bike rides to the allotment garden to witness the miracle of growth. Moments of life in Helsinki, interpreted by the Head of Fashion Design of Marimekko Noora Niinikoski and the designers Mika Piirainen, Tuula Pöyhönen, Mai Ohta, Nina Pirhonen, Piia Rinne and Satu Maaranen.
The Marimekko fashion show offered a dashing sneak peek to the Spring and Summer 2012 collection on Wednesday 19th October at the Cable Factory in Helsinki. The event was a nice continuation to the October 14th fashion show in Japan. The enthusiastic collection premier took place right in conjunction of Tokyo Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Tabloid, an eclectic art, office, gallery and studio space located in the heart of city and gathered together a large number of Japanese media and industry professionals. The guest list at the Cable Factory fashion show was just as impressive.
